pws info

Hi, I'm new to this so I apologise in advance if I've missed the blatantly obvious.

As free API keys are no longer available from 'Weather Underground' and we're advised to now have an 'OpenWeatherMap account' which I already had. Can someone clarify what needs to be in the 'pws' field, as the info on the Github page is confusing. The config example states "pws: 'pws:IGELDERL219', //culemborgyou you", which helped and I managed to work out the code for my own personal location. But the 'Config Options' list states pws "Can be any WU api location info.

US Example: NY/New_York Example: locid:NLXX8014;loctype:1

Which bears no relation to anything I can find on 'Weather Underground' or 'OpenWeatherMap'.

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Many Thanks

The "pws" indeed is the location-id. THe example pws: 'pws:IGELDERL219' is ok. The example in the "Config Options" is wrong.

Thanks for clarifying that. Still, the biggest unclear point for me is, as free API keys are no longer available from 'Weather Underground', does this still work with an 'OpenWeatherMap' API key?

Hi,

somehow there still are some free weather stations to choose from. I just changed the pws from a station which is not there anymore to another one more or less close to it.

Hopefully it will stay there for a while:-)

Please have a look at Wundermap.

Yeah, but if you have no Api Key... Module is useless for new users now.
