If could prove useful to move the plugin under pytest-dev for multiple reasons. If you decide to go this way, you should raise ticket at https://github.com/pytest-dev/meta/issues

Be sure you read https://docs.pytest.org/en/stable/contributing.html#submitting-plugins-to-pytest-dev -- to understand that the move that not mean loosing control over the repository. :D
