I have been thinking a bit about this and to really reasonably manage it feels like we need to CLI to understand that it has "children" config that is intended...
Might be useful to include this library for better terminal printing: https://www.npmjs.com/package/prettyjson
It seems #133, #186, #188, and #189 may be an extension of this or otherwise related in spirit.
We removed vfile in #234 which should make this more viable.
