can't find good fix and wish to edit /var/www/ php files
@sometext, thanks for trying out docker-wordpress! Funnily enough, I don't even get as far as you do -- ssh accepts my user password but then immediately closes me out of the connection. I wonder if something changed with Ubuntu 14.04 that I have to fix. I'll work on it and report back.
Thanks for the great script jbfink. I added ssh to the nginx-wordpress project and hit similar issues with ssh. There is an issue with Ubuntu 14.04 and the ssh example on the Docker site using a root login. There is a workaround using sed to change PermitRootLogin without-password to PermitRootLogin Yes, which should allow you to login as root again.
ssh install
RUN apt-get install -y openssh-server RUN mkdir /var/run/sshd RUN echo 'root:screencast' | chpasswd RUN sed --in-place=.bak 's/without-password/yes/' /etc/ssh/sshd_config
