transcodeVideo on Android doesn't resolve

Is this plugin still usable?

I'm trying to use the plugin to transcode videos to a smaller size before being uploaded. It works fine on iOS, but on Android the transcodeVideo promise just never gets resolved, the progress callback also doesn't get called. The createThumbnail method DOES work on the other hand.

Is anyone using this succesfully on Android or should I look for a different plugin?
