proposal: django-user-agents
this project has no maintainer, but he's willing to transfer it...https://github.com/selwin/django-user_agents/issues/34 - any opinions? I'm not familiar with jazzband yet, but have some basic knowlegde with CI and Open Source with my own django-libraries. does the project need a maintainer, here on jazzband? or is this just collaborative...(as I understood it).
Let me know how we can proceed :)
@selwin how about the underlying python-user-agents? django-user-agents is based on it, so both projects would need to be moved here, otherwise it doesnt make sense, what do you think?
if any of the more experienced jazzbanders could give a quick opinion? @jezdez maybe?
I think @jezdez is a bit busy, but the idea does sound good, assuming both projects can indeed be moved. They sound like good candidates for joint maintenance.
Hey there, I was out for a bit and only now am catching up.
In general both projects look good 👍🏻
I think we'll need to clarify two things with @selwin:
-
Please verify that python-user-agents is also accepted to be transferred by @selwin.
-
Both projects currently have documentation in the
READMEbut no Sphinx project or ReadTheDocs project set up. I would strongly recommend setting those up and move theREADMEcontent there.
@benzkji In general the next step would be for @selwin to join the Jazzband GitHub organization (via https://jazzband.co/join) to be able to transfer the repos via GitHub's repo transferal feature found in the repo settings.
Once the transfer has happened, individual tickets will be opened with more TODOs to finalize the move to Jazzband.
- Ok :)
- I won't have much time setting this up as I'm concentrating on developing features for other projects that I use at work. Hopefully someone will be able to help with this.
good! I can help, also with travis, or whatever else (releasing, etc). As I am not a real regular user of django-user-agents, I can try to help maintain it (PR, Issues, etc), but probably not alone - and as this is jazzband, I guess this could work out...
