Iserting new symbols in a pre-trained model

Is it possible to insert new symbols in a pre-trained model? When I try that, I get the follow error: "size mismatch for enc_p.emb.weight: copying a param with shape torch.Size([178, 192]) from checkpoint, the shape in current model is torch.Size([183, 192])."
