Problem adding new icons

I've attempted to manually insert new characters by editing mma.js and they some of them are not appearing. I'm wondering if I'm going about this in the right way. Can you please advise.

The file is generated by a Ruby script updatefont.rb which extracts paths from the FontAwesome SVG webfont.

Are you trying to add new characters that exist in a newer version of FontAwesome, or your own custom ones?
