OLS client 0.9.7 UI has problems in Linux

It appears that the OLS client v0.9.7 has UI problems in a Slackware/XFCE 4.10 environment. v0.9.6 does not have any problems on the same system.

Symptoms: comboboxes do not open and are disabled(?), or open at unexpected locations on the screen.
