"read this before commenting…" pop-up is difficult to hover over

Open louie-github opened this issue 4 years ago • 0 comments

When you hover over the read this before commenting… text near the end of an article, a yellow pop-up or message box shows itself with relevant links and instructions, as expected.

However, when you try to move the mouse pointer, for example, to click some of the links in the pop-up box, the pop-up box tends to disappear because it detects that the mouse has moved off the box. It seems that it only reliably keeps the pop-up box open if you hover over the triangle pointer that connects the pop-up box and the read this before commenting… text. This is a bit annoying, since it is quite a small area to have to hover over.

I can think of two (non-mutually-exclusive) solutions:

  1. Make the entire bottom portion of the pop-up box, not just the triangle, report that the mouse is hovering over so the pop-up does not disappear.
  2. Add a longer delay between moving the mouse pointer off the pop-up box and the pop-up box disappearing, like a fade-out or similar.

Thank you for your time!
