Remote hangs when attempting to playback from forked-daapd

iTunes 10.5.1. Forked-daapd is working perfectly with iTunes (no playback issues), and I was able to pair successfully with Remote. Remote sees the library with no problems. When attempting playback, however, the app hangs, forcing me to restart forked-daapd.

I suspect forked-daapd hangs when it loses communication with the Apple Remote App on iOS 5 when the iOS device switches tasks. forked-daapd stops streaming and the Remote App gets no more updates. I see this when I task switch on the iPad or the iPad goes into screen lock. I can confirm that forked-daapd needs to be restarted. I have forked-daapd running and installed on two Ubuntu Precise systems - a virtualised server and a physical nettop - same behaviour on both.
