it would be good if channel logos could automatically change based on day/time etc. similar to how alternate schedules work

I do not know how it could work but I remember some TV channels having a way of displaying a progress bar using their logos.

This is partially supported with block schedules and decos. Decos allow watermark configuration on day templates (24h to fill with various decos) independent of the primary content.
