Oh yeah, makes total sense; being able to run pre/post commands shouldn't depend on whether you're backing up locally or remote, they can be useful for both. 👍

Yeah, using a fixed delay isn't great, but at least it works it seems. Can't say I have better ideas, sorry.

@JB09 did you try out the approach in #1261? Does it work for you?
