cycle through possible compacting draw configurations

currently, unless im mistaken, theres no way to change the way a compacting draw uses a item that you give it. but what happens when you have something like say sand that compacts into sandstone and there is a compressed sand block thats 9 sand in a 3x3 crafting grid added by another mod? what im purposing is a way to cycle or change the thing a draw decides to compact to.
