bug: "Set up remote provider" tutorial loops endlessly

Open songyang-dev opened this issue 6 months ago • 3 comments

Jan version

0.6.3

Describe the Bug

I am a new user. When I select "Set up remote provider", I am guided through another screen. If I click "Next" on each popup of the tutorial, it will kick me back to the welcome page. I believe it should leave me on that provider selection page instead.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install the newest MacOS version
  2. Click "Set up a remote provider"
  3. Click Next on all the popups
  4. You go back to the welcome screen after clicking Finish

Current workaround is clicking "Skip"

Hi @songyang-dev, this is actually not a bug, it was intended that way. The link on the welcome page is actually to activate the tutorial.

When it ended back at the tutorial page, our intention is for you to click on setting and carry on with the set up as instructed, but we see how it can be confusing.

cc @urmauur maybe we should take his suggestion and make the tutorial not returning back to the welcome page after it is done.

I think the concern is after upgrading an already configured application, the tutorial loops. I removed and re-added the last character of the API key for each of my providers, and then the tutorial would complete and give me the chance to create a New Chat.
