Possible issue getting Pulseaudio to work & a resolution
I had a problem getting Pulseaudio streaming on Linux to work at first. Here's a brief description, and what I did to sort it out (more by luck than anything). I'm wondering if there is an issue noson-app has in registering a pa sink on first use?
noson-app 4.4.8 https://github.com/janbar/noson-app/commit/7efd29f94ea61c832e77a2359bba3197088d3693 though I had an issue with this on previous releases also. Glad to have got it sorted..
On Arch, tried as compiled from Github source, and as AUR build. KDE Plasma Desktop.
App works fine until I try the Pulseaudio option, with the intention of using Clementine to stream URLs and local files.
When Pulseaudio is selected a microphone icon appears in my system tray. If I hover over it, it reports noson-app is using the microphone (why?), and a volume slider appears in the volume control, but the output is still switched to internal speakers. The play button in noson-app flashes for roughly 10 seconds until going back to pause. At that point the microphone icon, and the noson volume control disappear.
If repeat and I quickly select the noson output in the volume control (selector to the left of the volume slider), the streaming starts. From this point on everything appears to work fine. I checked following a reboot, and everything appears to be OK, and noson appears as a pulseaudio sink (pacmd list-sinks)
