Support for .kdbx format file

Will it support .kdbx format file in the future? Thanks.

I intend to support all formats that keepassx supports. Given that keepassx does not support .kdbx files, I have no current plans to support this.

@jamesls

I am using KeePass (2.25) and it generates a .kdbx file, what do you mean by keepassx does not support .kdbx files ?

Thanks

KeePass is the windows version of the tool (http://keepass.info/), whereass KeePassX is a cross platform port (and a different code base: http://www.keepassx.org/). KeePassX supports the old file format of KeePass, but not the newer .kdbx file. You can export to the old format if you want: http://keepass.info/help/v2/version.html

KeePassX 2.0 has beta support for .kdbx. I encourage you to reconsider your stance, as I love the flexibility of the command line, and am hampered by coworkers who use Windows products only.

@jamesls Hi,

KeepassX v2.0 (and onwards) supports KDBX files since the 7th of December 2015 : https://www.keepassx.org/news/2015/12/533

Can you please reopen this issue ?

Can you please reopen this issue to support .kbdx files

Sounds reasonable, reopening. I don't have a lot of bandwidth on this project these days, but I'd be willing to take a pull request (or even collaborators).
