Material Editor OpenGL 3.1 Crash on Load (model rendering works)
Essentially, it opens the window, doesn't allow any clicking within it and the whole program closes without an error message about 3 seconds later.
Does it work if you redownload the latest release fron github?
No. I downloaded this artifacted version and the window is working, for me at least.
The material editor works fines for me on the latest. Have you made any modifications to the material presets?
Today was the first time I've tried using the program. I didn't know that window was there until I got to that point in the character importing tutorial for Smash 4 on Gamebanana, so no.
Does your GPU meet the minimum system requirements? The required OpenGL version is 3.30 or later.
Ahh. That'd be the reason, then. My version is 3.1; I guess the earlier version I found had lesser requirements?
Sorry then.
The requirements are the same. The material editor should still work but have disabled features in your case. I'll look into why this is broken.
If you could, I'd appreciate it. I'm just pouring through the different random versions now it feels like to find one that works for me and it's a slog.
The most efficient option is to wait for a fix or google how to use git bisect to find a version that works.
Thanks a bunch.
The checks for OpenGL setup are already working as expected. Does the background render in the viewport if you do File > New Model?

Do models render if you open a model.nud file?
And I can view animations if I load characters.
Can you export shader error logs once the viewport loads and upload them in a zip file?
Strange. It should also have issues with model rendering. I'm going to leave this open, but I can't guarantee I can fix it anytime soon. I might just end up adding some sort of hacky workaround later.
I never said it earlier but that person's comment reminded me of this thread. Thanks for trying to help me. Still haven't gotten it to work; I do appreciate you doing it though.
