SnapCamera not working with Zoom - June 2024

Open jungianLaura opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

June 4, 2024: I've been using Jaku's version of SnapCamera since he created his version, but now, on a Mac running Sonoma 14.5, the Zoom app just shows a black box when Snap Camera is selected. Yes, I've restored legacy video. And Snap Camera works everywhere else. Can anyone help me?

You have to run the patch every time you boot up your computer . First run the patch and then open zoom

Thank you for this, linkf2. Please excuse my ignorance. What exactly does "run the patch" mean? I'd like to try this. Thanks so much.

Do the following steps:

  1. Do what this article tells: https://support.apple.com/en-us/108387.
  2. Open Terminal and paste this script: sudo /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jaku/SnapCameraPreservation/main/mac.sh)". Type your password and hit Return afterwards.
  3. Wait for the script to complete. Accept every permission that shows up for SnapCamera.
  4. Quit the app that you want to use SnapCamera and open that app again.
  5. Choose SnapCamera and enjoy.

IMPORTANT: If you restart your Mac, you have to run the script in step 2 again. This is my solution and it works for me, hope it works for you as well.
