Feature request: Switch VS UI to Changes when there are merge conflicts

When finishing a feature or hotfix, it's not immediately obvious if there have been merge conflicts.

It would be helpful if the UI would automatically switch to the git "Changes" UI, if there are merge conflicts.

I'm having a similar problem when creating a release. I get no notification of a failure, and don't realise there's been one until I find there's no release to finish. I'll create a separate issue for that though.

But I do like @JamesEvolution's request for the to to change to the Changes page after finishing a feature or a hot fix. I'd like to add after a release as well.
