Changes in query editor are mysteriously undone while editing (Postico 2)
A customer has reported an issue (Feedback 557) where changes in the query editor disappear while editing SQL queries.
In one instance, text that the user entered disappeared shortly after entering the text. Using Cmd-Z restored the text.
In another instance, the user deleted a query file in the sidebar, only to have it reappear a short while later.
It looks like either a background process in Postico is writing old versions of the file to disk, or Postico is reloading the file unexpectedly.
I ran into this issue myself and have seen it on other peoples machines as well.
On my mac it only happened with new installations and it went away after changing the setting new tab opens with
to same view
. Maybe the extra query file for each tab is the culprit ...
I constantly run into this issue while editing queries and can usually recovery by pressing Cmd-Z but can be pretty frustrating. I'm using v2.0.2 dev
Same issue here. Version 2.0.2 (9621). Will try the 'new tab opens with' workaround above to see if that helps.
I've made some changes in version 2.0.3 that should hopefully fix this issue. I have never been able to reproduce the problem, but by examining the code I found a bit that looks like it could trigger this issue.
Unfortunately version 2.0.3 is not yet on the Mac App Store because it was rejected by Apple for an unrelated issue (they complained that Postico shows the path of the default library in preferences in a hidden location). I hope to clear this up soon, but unfortunately MAS review is unpredictable.
Update for Mac App Store customers: Apple has approved Postico 2.0.4!
Please update to the latest version and let me know if you still run into the issue.
