Query canceled when new query run in same connection window

What did you do?

Launched a long-running query from the SQL query editor. After some time, while the first query is still running, enter a new query in the editor and click "Execute Selection" button.

What did you expect to happen?

Running query continues to execute. When it completes, execute the second query.

What actually happened?

Original, running query is immediately canceled, without user intervention or confirmation.
