Need data sources other than Quandl...

Open richlysakowski opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Since Quandl was acquired by Nasdaq Corporation, it is no longer free and open source.

Quandl requires a rather expensive paid subscription to use for current market data.

Do you have connectors to other data sources?

Or is there a connector template that can be configured to connect to free data sources?

Hi Rich.

You are right! But Nasdaq Corporation let you create an account and giving you access to free timeseries. The API Key provide by Nasdaq Corporation works well with Quandl library.

If you have any doubt, feel free to ask.

Hi Jairotunior,

Thank you for your muy rapido reply!!

I will check again, but last time I checked all options and futures data (historical and current) from Quandl cost money. Perhaps FRED data is free, but that is always free.

I looked into the source.py class template and I might be able to adapt that to yFinance or to a brokerage data feed. I will look into that too.
