Feature request: Speed up install of software deps? cfMesh very slow.
cfMesh is taking a really long time to "install". I'm >5 minutes in and only 6 MB are downloaded with a really good internet connection. Any chance this can be improved? Also, I think the file is downloaded already, so maybe the text should say "Unzipping" or something.
If the file is downloaded already, it is just a copy. Takes less than 1s on my machine, so I have no idea why it's taking so long on yours. The installation that follows takes about 4 min on my quad core laptop, so again, not sure what is going on.
What version of freeCAD are you running? Multiple computers now cfMesh has a slow install. Is there a way I can configure a path like OpenFOAM
It's been fine for me with FreeCAD 1.0 and the development version of v1.1.
You can always download cfMesh from the link on the preferences page, then unzip and install it by running the Allwmake script after sourcing your OpenFOAM environment. Would be a good start to see if that process is also slow for you.
Please note that OpenFOAM v13 isn't tested yet.
I think I finally figured this one out. You must first specify an installation directly, then OpenFOAM and cfMesh downloads quickly. At least on windows.
