[Feature Request] Song Caching
Looking for a caching ability, For repeat songs and playlists.
Hoping to save a local copy of commonly played music to allow for quick re-playing of already played songs.
- Play a song
- Play another song
- Play the previous song without having to download it again.
- ???
- Weird pause in-between songs because of slow download speed might be bopped.
Quick edit: Maybe the automatic downloading of the next song in queue to prepare to help with the delay as well. If at all possible.

LavaPlayer, which is loading & playing music, is purely a streaming tool. Caching is difficult to get right in MusicBot (https://github.com/jagrosh/MusicBot/issues/305#issuecomment-550443876), it should rather be implemented in LavaPlayer.
As a hacky workaround, you can download these tracks (preferably using the .opus format) by yourself, place them in MusicBot's folder, and using play <file name with extension> to play the track.
Ah i see, As an uneducated person I had no idea. The bot is honestly phenomenal the only think that's throwing me is the silence between songs haha.
