For privacy reasons, because I often don't like the artist images picked by Last.fm or Spotify, and also because Spotify cannot find information for many of my obscure artists, resulting in a mixed experience, Ipropose an option (which would be off by default, because most people like metadata auto-fetching) that turns off all external services (Last.fm, Spotify, Genius).

I think this would impact Artist Images, Lyrics and Artist Info, if I am not mistaken

Alternatively, the options to disable all three services could be added to the individual Services tab of the Settings panel. Currently, Spotify and Last.fm only allow "Read-only" but not "Deactivated".

An easy way for you to achieve this would be to use an ad-blocker plugin for your browser to block those domains.

That's an excellent suggestion. But i tend to use Iris on mobile, controlling mopidy as I move around the house with my phone. And there only firefox has support for extensions. And Firefox on mobile has other problems....

I use ublock origin on Firefox mobile, it has support for blocking media elements from specific domains. Tried that?
