I wondered why Atom Helper was rocking 16% CPU all the time. Loaded up the in built developer console in Atom and ran a profile... although I get no errors, it appears that the constant launching when Spotify is not running results in excessive CPU usage. Instead, atomify should back off if it cannot find Spotify.

@leepa thanks for opening this issue! When you say "it appears the constant launching when Spotify is not running"...is that the constant launching of the modal or something else?

No - nothing appears on the screen. But using the profiler, I can see that osascript is launched over and over causing excessive CPU usage.

I installed the package this morning and saw this with Spotify open:
