Open ghost opened this issue 11 years ago • 5 comments

Hi I have installed pianobar and all of the code that was added but when I type Startx on my Pi it boots up then brings up a screen that says it cant find http://localhost/8080 or something along those lines...Is there anything im doing wrong? How would I get to to the webpage/what would I type in the adress bar on my computer to get to the webinterface that will let me control Pandora like pause and play?

Thanks, Cameron2621

Let's ensure that you have the correct URL first. Make sure that you're visiting http://localhost:8080.

Are you doing that on the Pi? If you want to access it on another computer, you'll need to use your Pi's IP address instead. You can find it (usually) by doing hostname -I on the terminal.

No I did thatt on my computer...When I boot up my pi's desktop midori comes up saying it can't find Local Host 8080.I tried entering the ip into Google and it can't find it...I can connect to the pi via ssh just fine and start pianobar and everything works that way.

Thanks, Cameron2621

Well if you want to access Pidora's web/mobile interface from another computer, you'll need to use the IP address of the Pi and not localhost. Since you're able to connect to the Pi via SSH you already have everything you need. Just use that IP address followed by the port number 8080.
