Question regarding Explorer behaviour

Open anthops opened this issue 7 months ago • 1 comments

I noticed some slightly differing behaviour when navigating the explorer. There are two different scenarios which I would have thought would result in the same outcome:

  1. Click on folder -> click on element within folder -> click on another folder or element outside of folder
  2. Click dropdown button next to folder -> click element in folder -> click another folder or element outside of folder

The first results in the initial folder to close, whereas the second keeps the folder open. Here's a clip I recorded of it on https://quartz.jzhao.xyz/ (sorry for the lack of mouse)

I'm not fussed but was wondering if it was intended for these to be different?

Cheers :)

I'm not sure if I fully understand what you're describing.

If I remember correctly, the default Explorer behavior (this can be modified/configured) is to set the collapsed/expanded folder to collapse all folders, except the folders that contain the current page (the one you click on). Basically, the Explorer component will show the current page in the Explorer and collapse anything else.
