Reverse engineer touchpad firmware [$50]

Touchpad accuracy/performance should meet or exceed that of the current closed-source blob before the bounty may be accepted.

I understand this is a long-term goal and this bounty may lay stagnant for a while. At least we can track ideas and progress here.

I would love to work on this but I know nothing about firmware. Hopefully this can help motivate others to do what I cannot... Thanks in advance to all who contribute!
