Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3 #718

Describe the bug

I can't install jack-router dll on a 64 bit windows 10 home machine. The 64 bit jack installer fails at jack-router registration. Manual installation does not work either. I have installed VCREDISTS from 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017 onward and there is no difference in installing the dll.

Environment

  • JACK Version: jack 1.9.19 for windows 64bit
  • Operating System: Windows home 64bit build 19042 version 10.0.19042
  • Installation: How did you install jack2? installed from package.

I also had the same problem on win 11. I think it's a installer bug

Install and ignore the error...

Open command prompt as administrator and: cd C:\Program Files\JACK2\jack-router\win64 regsvr32 JackRouter.dll

It works for me

In addition to @Ferik70 , if the dll registration fails, be sure to have Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installed (that was my problem) https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2/issues/790#issuecomment-971505385
