Projects view doesn't highlight java classes that have changes (GIT). The alpha SDK showed them in blue as the others were black. Now they are just all white. The package shows the repository symbol still. I don't know if this is some setting I missed. But as far as I know the only changes are Netbeans 8.0->8.1 and the colour scheme. And I think it is the colour scheme...?

Yes it is the colour scheme... But I was wrong, the other entries are gray but the ones with changes are white. I noticed this when taking the screen capture. My old eyes can't really tell the difference. Even when using IPS display.
It's problematic for me as well to see the difference :D You could try changing the Color Scheme to the yellow ones (or pony!) (See here)
The Problem is we can only define three primary colors and it would effect disabled menu entries (which are gray instead of blue), I think.
What you could do if you feel bored, is using the manual mode (see the post) and improve the blue theme
Maybe you can find some colors where it looks good for everything. Or this is another thing simply not covered by our LaF and we need additional investigation as we had with Java Doc
It is strange. Using beta1-b002 I had the "usual" graphics and after a few launches I suddenly had the colors change as desired however this effected the way the tabs look (Think of Windows 98 Installers, blue gradient), so no clue what's wrong here :(
I think that this works now, I have to take a look at it at home, but I think I've seen this working correctly.
