Feature request: Pause when playback output is changed

Open theblazehen opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

Hi there,

I normally listen to audiobooks connected to my car. When the connection is disconnected I'd like for the playback to stop, as normally I have my phone's speaker volume low and I then lose my position in the book.

Is there any chance of getting https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/media-apps/volume-and-earphones#becoming-noisy implemented?

The connection to car speakers is bluetooh? Actually my usecase is different, I'd rather prefer to continue on another audio output, so this should be solved by preferences option.

I currently use an aux cable, however it may be Bluetooth in future.

An option in the preferences sounds great.

Thanks!

I see you added the help wanted tag. I haven't done any android / kotlin dev before, but I can likely get it to pause when audio output is switched which would work for my use case, but not with adding it to the preferences

If you solve that part adding to preferences is piece of cake. I'm now more or server part - refactoring for new Rust libraries.

I rather have it stop playing. Folding my headset anywhere and have it blast what i am listening to everywhere is such a weird feeling.
