Idea(s): Daily users gets static IP Address automatically
Hi Ivan,
I have something to share and I hope that it's not going to waste your time reading all these :)
SPECIFICATION:
- Running on multiple AP
- DCHP Lease time is set to expire in (2 minutes- current setup)
SCENARIO:
- Daily customers jump off from Access Point-to another. (Like roaming)
REMARKS: When authenticated user is logged in and has been inactive for 2 minutes. Normally, the DHCP lease time for the user is removed from the DHCP Leases. And when the user logged back in, it gets a new IP address. whereas the previous IP is being assign by another user.
OBJECTIVE: When the user is authenticated or connected to Access Point A and will move to Access Point B and C the DHCP Lease time will always offer the client a reserved IP address.
This feature will be activated when the user MAC address has 3 consecutive days of availing the service it increases the lease time from the DHCP leases to 3 days making it static IP address. Meanwhile, if the user is inactive for 3 Days it will be also be deleted automatically.
We can also apply this method for every customer based on the service time they avail.
This might give our regular customers better service experience. Any thoughts about this? I was thinking about based on my experiment, having a static IP on my phone with IP Binding.
So, all these method will be based on the users MAC address.
Thank you for having some time reading :)
Have a wonderful day,
