Lego Island crashes when i tried to go outside from information center onto the island with Direct3D HAL

Recently, i had succesfully set up the Lego Island, modded with dgvoodoo for Direct3D HAL. Apparently, the game booted fine from intro to Infomaniac welcoming us to Lego Island, but then i pulled one of the character to one of the place on the map (I think it was pizzeria). However, when the screen transtitioned to pixelation and loading icon, the game just crash immediately. I switched to other types of video driver just to fix this. I found some information on RR forums from 3 years ago that has fix with disabling "Redirect Save Files to %APPDATA%". However, can anyone figure out why this happened?

for me, I had the same issue with wine (I'm on Linux BTW), except ENABLING the feature fixed it. IDK how it works either, but I'm sure someone will figure it out.
