Dark variant's background is light in gVim in Windows

I've tried this on 2 different PCs, just copying the rose-pine-dark.vim into the colors folder and just use it. You can also notice (or not rather) that the commented out text in the highlighted line also disappears as it seems to have the same foreground and background color.

I assume this is an issue with the colorscheme as other colorschemes appear to have their respective backgrounds, for ex.:
