What to do when I don't want to approve the new permissions

Open zbynekwinkler opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

Weighing the modal window feature #46 against the change in permissions to allow the extension access to everything I browse - I'd like to keep the old permissions and ditch the modal. Judging by the comments at the addon page I might not be the only one. Is there any way users like me can be accommodated? I mean short of forking the extension and creating own addon.

currently I am working to not use these permissions #57, i hope in the next few days it will be ready

until then you can stay on the older version or load manually the older version https://github.com/itsecurityco/to-google-translate/pull/46#issuecomment-534499626

you can just choose not to accept the new permissions and it'll keep the old version installed, right?

If you have old version installed, you won't have to update to the new one. Go to the Addons page and set "Allow automatic updates" to "Off"

Not a single whole page can be translated. Receives the following error message from Google:

  1. That’s an error. Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request.

What's wrong?
