Throw away 'Triple' and 'Pair' in favour of 'Sequence'

Triple and pair can be represented as a sequence with resp. 3 or 2 elements. This way, lots of functions can be generalized, resulting in less code duplication without performance loss.

I will experiment a little with a decorator.
