What is the use case for the component you're requesting? Create an indeterminate progress bar that shows we are processing the operation in the background without giving the user an estimate on when the operation will finish.

Yeah, I had a similar thought too, based on the usage guidelines for the spinner I think it leans toward the progress bar
Don't use loading spinners to indicate an action the user took is being processed or when the time remaining is known. Use the progress bar instead.
Not the most important but I wasn't sure if I should file this under "new component" or "adding a feature"
Indeterminate progress bars are used when the duration of the process can’t be accurately measured or when progress is unknown. Indeterminate progress bars reassure users that an operation is ongoing. If progress can later be calculated, change to a determinate progress bar.
