Simulation view renders checkboxes with delay (on macOS)

See screencast. Checkboxes are rendered with delay of around 2-3 sec after expand all was clicked. Only observed on macOS. Looks fine on Windows.

it looks like the simulation time would hang for a short time right before the checkboxes get displayed... 🤔
