Setting for "Open itch as hidden on startup" doesn't work on multiple computers

When I use the itch.io client, the setting for "Open itch as hidden on startup" appears to do nothing.

What I'd normally expect would be for the client to hide in the tray when launched, but instead it launches in the foreground, shows a brief "finishing install" message, and then asks me to select my user account.

Tested this on another machine and experienced the same thing. Please let me know if there's more information I can provide. Thanks!
