What

As web maps are spreading more and more also on the public administration web sites we are proposing to add design guideline for it. We believe that the usage of map based on vendor solution (esri, google, etc.), despite have many commonalities in terms of functionalities and navigation experience, present differences on the map tooling, icon sets, etc.

Why

We have seen a lack of guidelines related to the usage of web maps and related design components and tooling (zoom, navigation gauges, pointers, map animation controller, etc.) and we would like to add some elements for an improved coherent experience across the Italian design kit adopters.
