[FeatReq] Add Copy/Paste/Cut/SelectAll/Undo/Redo buttons to the extended keyboard toolbar

Open Emasoft opened this issue 1 year ago β€’ 4 comments

Feature description

Add the following missing buttons to the extended keyboard toolbar:

  • Cut
  • Copy
  • Paste
  • SelectAll
  • Undo
  • Redo

We cannot live without them (especially when no hardware keyboard is available).

Also, I recommend removing the arrow button since it is awkward to use and prone to errors. Just let the Arrows Pad be on screen by default (just bigger!).

Hello @Emasoft πŸ‘‹

Many thanks for your feedback!

Missing buttons on SFTP or SSH? On SSH I they won’t be used often

They won't be used? You must be joking. I use them all the time (I use lightning.ai via ssh to check often on my AI models training, editing stuff and copy pasting snippets from ios safari to the ssh terminal and back all the time). Only I have to pass every time through the DAMNED contextual menu that blocks everything, making an useless animation and yet still does not allow to select the text on the terminal that I want to copy. I just want to drag my finger on the screen, select some part of it and being able to copy it. The same for pasting into the terminal. And SelectAll is very useful to copy the entire buffer screen and pasting it into GPT-o1 for checking the output of a model. Undo and redo may be useful only when undoing some pasting, that is true. Please remove the contextual menu and let the user select the text with the fingers and use the buttons to act. Thanks.πŸ™πŸ™‡πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ«‘ πŸŒŸπŸŒΉπŸŒ›πŸ£πŸ™†πŸ»

Sorry seems I don't have understand your need.

If you are talking about SSH terminal I don't know how to perform cut/undo/redo as the terminal is managed by server and not the client itself

@Emasoft When you are talking about "Cut" / "Copy", are you referring on using nano/vi/emacs?
