This is a weird bug with vibrations currently, reduce vibration intensity or turn of vibrations completely for now.

I am also experiencing this, along with a lot more similar issues in different scenarios. I'm using the same controller, PS5 Dualsense controller, but via USB.

Besides when using a shield, I am experiencing controls freezing briefly (for varying durations) in the following scenarios that I've noticed so far:

  • Landing in water (very brief)
  • Charging a bow (somewhat brief)
  • Being hit by a breeze charge or having one hit nearby (literally freezes for at least a full second)

I'm playing on 1.21.3 with Fabric and several other QOL mods installed. Running on Windows 11.

I noticed your comment about vibration intensity, so I turned it down from 150% to 20%, but it didn't help at all. Turning it off fixed it entirely, and yet somehow I'm still getting faint vibrations. Perhaps the bug is being caused by the controller trying to vibrate twice at the same time?
