[Question] How do I set this up on Steam Deck?

I just got a Steam Deck for Christmas yesterday as of me writing this and installed Minecraft on it. After some fiddling around with some stuff for Java to open Jar files to use this mod I did get the mod installed on my system, however it doesn't appear as a controller I can use. I'm using the latest version for Minecraft 1.20.4 at the time of writing and have no other mods installed other than Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (two dependencies for the mod). What am I doing wrong?

I can't speak from experience since I don't own a steam deck. Though I've heard success with using controlify.

1. Make sure you are running in gaming mode through the steam app thing, not desktop mode.
2. Try toggling steam input on/off?

If you don't know how to get it into the steam app you need to 'add a non-steam game'

I use it like this:

1. Enter the desktop mode
2. Download prism launcher from the software app store
3. Search for modpacks on modrinth
4. Find and install one of the steam deck mod packs
5. Add prism launcher to steam as a third party app

The same for me -- 2.0 does not detect steam deck while 1.7 works just fine. The game is indeed launched in gaming mode. I tried to relaunch the game in case SteamOS is not hot-plugging the controller when I update the mapping, but still no good.
