Volume Mixer popup should be wider

When I open Volume Mixer (for example, if it is set up as the tray event for a single click), the device's volume is displayed together with the volumes of three applications. This is too few: usually more applications are playing sounds/music, so I often have to manually resize the popup before I can access the volume for the individual program. Also, for high resolution screens, showing so few applications is a waste of screen real estate, and showing more would probably not be too intrusive for most users.

It would be nice if the popup would be bigger: you could have a setting for its desired (maximum) size upon display. Here are some suggestions for the possible options for the window size of the Volume Mixer popup.

  • no width limit at all (popup can cross over to screens adjacent to the main window)
  • no width limit (up to screen width)
  • limit to n applications (if at least that many are playing music)
  • limit to n pixels/centimetres/possibly other "fixed" units
  • limit to p% of screen width, this could be a reasonable default with, say, 30%
    • if only this option is chosen, for aesthetical reasons, the popup could be sized so that the last application volume is not shown if it would be partial width

By adding the above options as checkboxes rather than a radio group, you can also allow for any combination of the above.

Note: a keyboard shortcut can be assigned to the Mixer, and pressing Win+Left or Win+Right once the popup shows turns it into a reasonable size.

These are good advices, but I only show standard Windows volume mixer. I will try to change size of this window, but I am not sure it's possible.
