sound on changing volume no longer works

after updating to 1.1.8.465, when changing the volume via my function keys, the osd no longer makes sound. the osd shows, but no sound is played to indicate volume change. "sound on changing volume" is set to sound_01.wav

Unfortunately sound_01 and sound_04 do not work on Windows 11.

i downgraded back to 1.1.7.449 and the sounds work again. i will stick to that version for the time being.
