How should we talk about the future here?
Should I setup an IRC room? A Slack channel? Should we use https://chat.stackoverflow.com/rooms/11/php ?
Thoughts?
I'm not a contributor, but as a member of room-11, I enjoy when I see your discussion (about developing php) at the room.
It depends on how much needs to be talked. If, for instance lengthy discussions need to be had, then a separate chat channel might make sense.
However, it is hard (for me at least) to watch multiple chats actively; room 11 is usually the only chat I actually actively monitor and then it's also easy for me to see when a discussion about this project is going on.
I'd say we should continue using room 11, and for more elaborate thoughts maybe github issues. At least for now. If it turns out that there are many people interested in chatting about this without at least 20 rep on SO, then we might possibly open another channel. But at least for me room 11 would be easiest.
This is a serious topic. If this will work this project is changing.
All good old base projects have shitty old mailing lists and irc channels. So i pfeffer to take an irc channel.
