Create Teleservice category
Since the Red Button channels have been included (https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv/pull/7617 and https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv/pull/7909), and there are also channels that report latest releases about TV operators, I guess that instead of categorizing as "news", the "teleservice" category should be used. Tagging "teleservice" (like "teletext") assumes that the channel does not only broadcast television programs on video, but in a more interactive interface (or dynamic data).
For more clarity, teleservice would be: "Dynamic information from TV services".
About "teletext": These have been around for years for TV listing or daily news. Per example, this Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_teletext_services
If we do add this category I guess we'll need to write about why this tag exists.
Though "teleservice", in the way you would present it, would sound like "Information". Not to confound with "News".
It is very difficult to categorize "news" to text-only or image-only channels that could involve news, sports and entertainment like a newspaper with GUI. Hence the proposal.
There is a channel called NHK Kishou Saigai (https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv/pull/1327), which warns about possible earthquakes in the country. In this case it would be a channel to inform the population and could fit as Teleservice [Not 24/7].
Going back into this PR since I didn't give any news (sorry about that !).
What really tickles me up, and I'm sorry for being that pointillist, is that I don't think the name "teleservice" fits... I think there could be another way of saying it better.
Something like "Guide/Information" sounds more adequate for me. It's my point of view though. If @freearhey can give his POV too, i think it'll make a better decision.
Actually, I can hardly be of any help here. I've never seen BBC Red Button broadcasts and don't know how different it is from any other channel. NHK Kishou Saigai I can't find in our playlists either.
If you can find at least 10 channels that don't fit into any of the existing categories then of course it makes sense to add a new one.
But in any case, I would advise you to first post this suggestion in the Discussions to get the opinion of the whole community and maybe do a poll with different names.
Thank you. I recognize that the idea behind "Teleservice" is ambiguous for many, but the examples help to clarify the new category I am proposing. I will create a discussion about this.
