Launch IPython with cpyvke-launch-ipython instead of Jupyter console

Is there a way to have cpyvke-launch-ipython launch an IPython terminal and not a jupyter console?

I am using it with vim-ipython-cell and vim-slime that use the %cpaste and %paste magics which are not exposed in the jupyter console.
